Overview
Hummingbird 2015 is used to connect to emulate mainframe terminal interfaces. Before they can be used, they must be configured in a manner that will allow them to properly connect with the target mainframe environment.
How to install and configure Hummingbird 2015
- Enter tammvs1.tamu.edu, or the text string the FAMIS-provided installation instructions indicate
- Double-click the Connection Central icon on your desktop
- Click on the Default 3270 icon
- Enter tammvs1.tamu.edu in the "Specify a host to connect to" field of the Host Explorer pop-up window that appears
- Click on the OK button
- Acknowledge that the connection failed, and continue
- Click on Options
- Click on Global
- Select Prompt on Window Close
- Select Prevent Automatic Shutdown by Windows
- Click the OK button
- Click on the Options top-menu item
- Click on the Session Properties... pop-up menu item
- Click on + (expand) icon beside the "Security" tree item
- Click on the General tree item
- Select the SSL / TLS radio button
- Click the OK button
- Click the Options top-menu item
- Click on the Session Properties... pop-up menu item
- Click on the + icon beside the "Keyboard" tree item
- Click the General tree item
- Unselect Ignore NumLock state
- Click the OK button
- Click the Toggle Connection icon in top icon menu
- Click the OK button
Note: you should see the "ATM" screen at this point
How to configure Hummingbird 2015 to use your keypad
- Click the Options top-menu item
- Click on Session Properties... pop-up menu item
- Click the + icon beside the "Keyboard" tree item
- Click the General tree item
- Deselect Ignore NumLock state TO UNcheck THE BOX
- Click the OK button
